Some people refuse to do it…
Some people don’t want to knock on doors. They feel like a pest. They fear rejection. They hate working outdoors. They don’t want to walk miles every day. These are a few mindsets that I encounter with sales people that I work with. It’s ok, I personally don’t share this mindset as there are other things that I feel uncomfortable doing and maybe they don’t. My point is, every business needs to put their Aces in their places. Too many times employees (square peg) are forced into a role they have no desire being in (round hole). Hire my company to do the dirty work; help put your Aces back in their places where they belong.
My Approach
Many sales gurus have memorized rebuttals to common responses and so do I, but its all about effective communication with the prospect. Nothing is more cringy than listening to a sales trainer talk at the prospect, regurgitating the rebuttal before the prospect is able to finish their statement, and forcing it upon the prospect as if it were a lobotomy. No matter what we’re selling, we’re ALL in the people business. My belief is if you treat people like people it will lead to a successful marketing and sales system.
Like a Ninja
There’s many unique challenges when it comes to successfully canvassing. Becoming a ninja isn’t just a choice, it’s a lifestyle. The same can be said of a Canvasser!
Build it
We’re in the people business. Yes, revenue and money is important, but the building of relationships is what our art is truly about. Not simply building relations with our customers and hopefully their families, but building those same relationships with our coworkers and all others that we “work” with. We find gratitude in growth.
